What Clients Say

Ruth's Story

At the end of August 2020 I had a nasty fall from the top of 17 steps on the stairs at home due to my knee giving way.  I was diagnosed with a torn meniscus which is still giving me problems. During the fall I caught my fingers of my right hand on the banisters and badly dislocated my 4th finger and in fact suffered pain with the rest of my fingers of that hand.

I had the Covid Virus in November 2020 which left me with a less capacity for deep breathing.  I know that, because I am a singer and I know when I can breathe deeply and fully – which I was unable to do. I was also having circulation issues and my legs were very painful. At that time my Husband of 53 years died of the Covid Virus which was the beginning of December 2020.

I am an Intuitive Counsellor and run Meditation Courses as well as teaching Kabbalah. I am fully aware that if trauma such as loss is not expressed fully this can manifest into physical issues in the body.

That is where I was when I first started Pilates with Noelle on the 13th January 2021.

She was kind, understanding and encouraging.  The first thing we did was deep breathing – that I experienced fully and could feel where could feel where I “lacked”.  After a few sessions with Noelle there was a definite change in my ability to breath deeply and it is improving all the time.

Due to the condition in my left knee, that leg was suffering and I was stiff and did not have the mobility in that joint.  Noelle encouraged me to gently exercise that area bearing in mind my body could tell me when I needed to stop.

I loved the deep breathing and stretching we did.  In the past I had always exercised and kept myself fit and now I felt extremely stiff and awkward. Once I started work with Noelle I experienced my body responding and really enjoying the movement.

Noelle also showed me exercises to do with mobility in relation to my right-hand injuries which I had received during my fall.  I start out in the morning very stiff and then following the particular exercises that Noelle has shown me it definitely improves.

My life has improved greatly and I am so appreciative of the input Noelle has given me, which makes all the difference. I would recommend Noelle absolutely – she is caring and considerate and also helps to make the whole experience fun, which opens so many possibilities.  Her knowledge and ability are apparent and to be able to trust her in the way I do, is paramount in my recovery.

I would also say that for me Noelle and her Pilates class is a way of getting fitter and healing the body and the spirit.

I have been doing pilates with Noelle for 3 years now... Pilates definitely helped rehabilitate my lungs and breathing after having Covid. I gradually eased back in with gentle classes during my first month of recovery, I noticed how it improved my lung capacity. A few months on and I started HIIT classes again and even started running.

Noelle is a great teacher. She is very supportive & understanding. Her variety of classes allow you pick a level that best suits you.

After several lower back issues over the years, my chiropractor finally succeeded in getting me to start Pilates.  I started not being able to complete many of the exercises, but soon saw signs of increased flexibility. I also lost the persistent neck pain I’d been experiencing, and my back is increasingly robust. Noelle’s approach, and patience, cannot be faulted; add in her sense of humour and it makes the whole experience enjoyable and definitely worthwhile. I strongly recommend Pilates, and Noelle.

I can highly recommend Noelle's virtual pilates classes. I've been joining her classes since the start of lockdown in March 2020. I've never stuck to any form of exercise as long as this before now, and that's down to Noelle's ability to clearly explain and breakdown each exercise whilst making classes fun too. She's seen me through a nasty ankle injury by providing alternative options whilst I recovered. Post-injury, Noelle's classes have helped me to strengthen my ankle and improve my balance.

My husband convinced me to start attending Noelle’s classes. I’ve found Noelle to be very professional, and she really helped my recovery from two broken ankles, giving me different exercises to the rest of the class. I cannot recommend Noelle highly enough.

I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Noelle as a first class pilates teacher.

When I first started pilates I was extremely stiff and had hardly any balance.  I can now stand up from the floor, can stand on one leg and swing my arms all without holding on plus many other things.

My posture is better and my back and neck pains have gone.  My overall feeling is SO much better,  and I am more relaxed. I have really looked forward to my zoom classes with much pleasure during lockdown because Noelle entertains as well as teaches us.

I started Pure Pilates initially for a six week term to recover from a lower back injury. With Noelle's fun, energetic and challenging classes I am still going five years later. My core stability and posture have greatly improved as a result and I would highly recommend Pure Pilates!
